Shekh Khalid (44) lives with his wife Gawhar (42) and his youngest daughter Kaziwa, in Sarau a village 58km outside of Sulaimaniya, In 1992 he lost his right leg when he stepped on a mine. Even now, the area remains littered with mines which means the villagers still cannot move around freely.
