LALISH VALLEY, IRAQ: A Yezidi religious leader hands out  candle wicks dipped in oil for the crowd to burn...The Yezidis, a minority religious group found in northern Iraq, celebrate Chwar Shema Sur (Red Thursday), as part of their New Year festival.  The Yezidis are the religious descendants of Zoroastrians and as a religious minority in Iraq are often targeted by terrorists.
