A sudden and large wave of refugees began to enter Kurdistan on Thursday 15th August after fighting between Islamist groups and Kurdish militia in the north east of the country intensified, and a border crossing was re-opened. Since then government sources have reported that over 25,000 people have entered Kurdistan, adding to the 150,000 already registered there. <br />
